Red With Wonder: A Love Letter To Stanley

About this series

Hi, I’m Angelina—a family and motherhood photographer based in Sydney.

This month, I’m sharing a 31-day colour challenge: a gentle exploration of how colour shapes our memories, our emotions, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. Each day, I’ll be reflecting on a different hue—through photos, stories, and the little wonders I find when I slow down and look closely.

Thanks for being here.

Red With Wonder

Red is cheeky. It’s clever. It doesn’t wait quietly in the wings—and neither does Stanley.

He came into my world before my daughter was born, and he changed me.

He was the one who taught me to care deeply and selflessly. To listen to unspoken needs. To love something small, vulnerable, and completely dependent with tenderness I didn’t know I had yet.

He prepared me for motherhood long before I knew the fullness of what that meant.

He’s all the things I adore—clever, bold, affectionate, and fiercely loyal.

And red? Red looks perfect on him.

I’ve always loved how the colour pops against his monochrome coat, making him look even more full of life and mischief. It’s a palette that feels like him—black, white, and red. Simple yet striking. Spirited, with heart.

Colour Insight

Red is often seen as the colour of passion, confidence, and intensity—but it’s also the colour of connection. The red thread of love. The warmth of presence. The heartbeat that says you belong here.

And when paired with black and white, red becomes even more powerful. It doesn’t overpower—it enhances.

The quiet balance of monochrome gives red its stage, and red returns the favour by bringing energy and feeling. It’s contrast in harmony, emotion in balance.

Just like Stanley.

The Everyday Wonder

Is there someone in your life who coloured your world before you even knew what it needed?

Today, celebrate them. Wrap them in red.
